MERRY CHRISTmas TO ALL!

We just wanted to take a moment from your busy schedules and wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas! We have been very blessed this Christmas, by many of our church family! So where to we begin to tell you how our Christmas has been so far?

First of all we had our church Christmas party our first Saturday night here. Those who decorated worked very hard setting things up for us all and we also had a couple of gentlemen who did us the pleasure of making barbeque, and boy was it Good! We also had a white elephant exchange, and that was great fun also, lots of swipping from Bro. Jamie, he just couldn't keep those stuffed Christmas toys. Fun was had by all from the youngest which is about 6 to the oldest which is 103 and Lord willing in January will be 104!

On December 21st we had our Christmas program. It was our first and the churches first one in a long time. I think the Sunday School teachers who were singing with their classes where more nervous then the kids where. We had a beautiful Mary and the cutest Joseph, who just couldn't keep his eyes open, but he was trying! We had over eighty people in attendance, and almost all stayed for fellowship after the program. We also had the privilege of accepting our first new members to the church on that Sunday also. The Lord truly is blessing!

As far as our personal life is going we have gotten all of the legal stuff taken care of to become Texans (drivers license, tags, insurance). That we just finished on Friday and hopefully we will not have to do that again for a long time! We have all the boxes unpacked and our apartment is beginning to look like home! It took some time, but we are finished and we are happy to have it that way. In the next entry you will see some pictures of the place that we now call home. You will also see a beautiful Christmas tree, the Lord helped us to find that tree, we were in Tyler one day making a hospital visit and we went shopping. Well we walked into a Linen and Things going out of business sale and at the front door there set this 7 1/2' prelite tree for $60, see we had no Christmas tree because there was no room in the inn (no truck) coming to Texas, so we had to leave them. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, but when we started looking at them they were $200 to $300, and we just couldn't see spending that right now with us just moving. So we just kept moving on, but there is was that one day and I am so thankful, it just wouldn't be Christmas without a tree! What a blessing from the Lord!

Christmas is going to be an even greater blessing for us we have family coming to see us! It will truly help us to celebrate Christmas with happy hearts! Scott's parent's and sister, and my brother (their married to each other) and their daughter Sara are coming to help us have a Merry Christmas! It truly has made up both happy to be able to have them here, we will have a house full but that's okay, the more the merry!

We really do wish all of you the Merriest of Christmas' and the Lord's hand on your lives through out the New Year! Everyone in Florida, We MISS you all very much! Hugs and Kisses from us both!

Our First Sunday

Here are a few shots from our First Sunday

It was really neat to see our names on the sign when we arrived.

The Church presented Scott with a new Scofield Bible with Pastor Scott Thomas printed on the front and they presented Becky with a dozen beautiful roses. The lady giving the flowers to Becky is Betsy Robertson.

Here is a shot of the front of the Church. The man leading the songs is Carl Schuck.

Here is you know who telling everyone how excited he is about his First Sunday.

Here is a shot of the entire congregation on the First Day.

It sure was a great Day!

We're Here

We have moved to Texas and Scott has become the Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Kilgore. We have been here a week and a day, and it has been a very busy week at that. We got into town on Monday we went to the apartment that the church had rented and we all said there is no way. So we began our hunt on the 1st day of the month trying to find a decent apartment to rent. The Lord truly was with us and we were able to find a three bedroom/two bath, that it just about as big as our home in Belleview was. Moved in on Tuesday evening the 2ND and have been trying to put our touch on it to make it our own. It is coming together somewhat. We were welcomed into town by the church giving us a "pounding" (they bought staples flour, sugar etc.) to help us fill our kitchen with goods. What a blessing that was! Then on Saturday night we had the pleasure of attending our 1st Christmas party with the church and we had so much fun with all of the white elephant gifts and all the trading and swapping! At the end of the party they presented Scott with a whole new suit, shirt, tie and shoes. Very nice! They gave me a gift card for $100 and boy did I have fun spending it. On Sunday morning they presented Scott with a new Scofield Bible with his name "Pastor Scott Thomas" printed on it. I was given a dozen roses, they are so beautiful! As you can see we have been very Blessed already here in Kilgore and we can't wait to see what else the Lord has planned for us. We will post pictures soon of the first Sunday, apartment, Christmas party and whatever else has happened in the last week very soon.
